Tellington TTouch - Dog Clinic
Connect, Train, Comfort

October 2 at 4:00p.m. through October 6 at 11:00 a.m.2018

Wendy Fast & Frances Smith will host a Tellington TTouch dog clinic at Mountain Horse Farm.

This three day introductory workshop counts toward certification in the Practitioner Training Program . Attend this workshop and set your first steps towards becoming a TTouch Practitioner for Dogs.

The Tellington TTouch method is a gentle and respectful training method honoring body, mind and spirit.

The gentle bodywork consisting of circular touches, slides and lifts in combination with respectful behavior training gives you the tools to:

  • influence your dog's behavior while enhancing your relationship
  • reduce stress, overcome anxiety and increase focus
  • assist in recovery from injury or illness
  • relieve discomfort in cases of aging, arthritis and hip dysplasia
  • solve behavior problems such as leash pulling, excessive barking and fear of thunder
  • teach your dog to have his mouth handled and his toenails clipped

Our inspiring workshop offers an in depth learning experience. It teaches the basic TTouch methods, while focusing on the issues of the individual animals that are attending.  Each workshop is therefore a unique learning venue, for both the animals and the people. This three day introductory workshop counts toward certification in the Practitioner Training Program. Attend this workshop and set your first steps towards becoming a TTouch Practitioner for Dogs.

Join us for this wonderful, all-inclusive workshop, which includes hands on training by Wendy & Frances, starting with a meet & greet on Tuesday afternoon, followed by three full days of teaching on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Your accommodations for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday night are included, as well as evening bonfires to have fun together and reflect on the day, and all delicious meals starting with dinner on the first night and ending with breakfast on the last morning. For sleeping, you have your choice of elegant rooms with fireplaces and outdoor hot tubs, to glamping in tipis (yes, tipis!) – your choice. The number of participants is kept low at 6-8 so everybody will get lots of quality time with the facilitators.

You can bring your dog or attend without a dog. If you bring your dog, he or she will stay at the Mountain Horse Farm Doggie hotel, which is at the same location where you are staying and where the workshop is held. Your dog won't be able to stay in the room with you, but will stay in a private and spacious suite in a climate controlled building.  Each suite has a raised bed for your dog's comfort. Please bring medications & supplements as well as food. We also ask you to bring a crate or carrier. During the workshop there may be moments that we are not working with all dogs at once, and we would like the other dogs to be in their crate or carrier allowing them to stay in the same space while working with only one or a few dogs.

We will require that you dog is current on the following vaccinations:
  • DHPP, also referred to as DHLPP
  • Rabies (NYS Law)
  • Bordatella (commonly referred to as the “kennel cough” vaccination)

Private accommodations for workshops participants only, including the Lodge, Carriage House, Tipis and Horse barn & Arena. No other guests will be staying during these days.
About Frances & Wendy:
Both Wendy and Frances have an extensive background in working with animals in addition to the work they’ve done with Tellington TTouch.

They have raised and shown their beloved Scottish Deerhounds for over 40 years.
Because of their strong connection to the Deerhounds and the extensive showing and breeding they’ve done, they were attracted to the Tellington TTouch method. They found it was a way of making new and deeper connections with animals, It offers them a more compassionate way of guiding behavior and helping with issues than traditional methods.

Going through the two year TTouch Certification program made it clear that what they were embarking on was not just a new way of working with animals—it was a whole new way to view life, seeing the interconnectedness of all creatures and offering new opportunities in developing more satisfying relationship with animals and people.

Wendy & Frances were certified as Tellington TTouch Practitioners in 1997, and since then have worked with private clients, held workshops across the country, assisted at TTouch trainings, and given presentations to associations like APDT (Association for Pet Dog Trainers) and ABKA (American Boarding Kennel Association), in addition to doing presentations for various breed rescue groups, kennel clubs, and humane societies.  They currently hold the titles of Advanced Practitioners, and are happy to share what they have learned with you.
