Grief can be overwhelming and exhausting. Taking care of yourself may be the last thing on your mind, but nourishing your mind, body and soul is so  important during this difficult time. Increasing self-compassion and self-care helps in dealing with painful emotions. We want you to feel welcome whether you grief the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a traumatic loss or any other significant loss.

At Mountain Horse Farm, we created this retreat across 4 days, to offer respite and renewal through connecting with nature and animals. Find this  respite and renewal in the beautiful natural setting of our farm and in spending time with intuitive horses and cows. The energy and beauty of the farm is something truly special. Large fields filled with wildflowers, easy trails to walk, beautiful horses, cows and wildlife and rolling hills all around us.

The benefits of massage therapy are extensive. Not only from a purely physical perspective, but the psychological and spiritual advantages are proven numerous. Massage often produces feelings of caring, comfort and connection, giving you a beautiful foundation in which to receive all this retreat is ready to offer. Our signature massage, using pressure points and essential oils, specifically designed for people that go through grief, is included in your retreat, as well as a workshop about juices and raw foods to learn more about nourishing your body.

And our horses and cows.... Such intuitive animals that don't need words to understand how you are feeling. But if you like to talk ..... you will find that they are very good listeners ... not understanding your words but recognizing the emotions behind it. Horses and cows don't judge, and you can tell them anything without feeling embarrassed or feeling that maybe they don't want to hear this .... they won't mind .... they will be there with you sharing your emotions and giving comfort. Their presence will soothe and relax.
Sit with them... breathe with them.... move with them.... connect with them.

The retreat is facilitated by Tina Albright-Menna, a licensed mental health counselor and Suzanne Vullers, an Eagala certified equine specialist. You will come together with other men and women that are going through grief and loss, creating this wonderful opportunity for 'relating’ and knowing someone truly does understand and has been where you’ve been, you will be supported, cared for, heard and seen at this retreat. Sharing your feelings with other participants or the facilitators is something we leave entirely up to you.
You will not need any previous experience with horses and cows, and you will interact with them while you are on the ground.  We are not riding horses.

The retreat while mindfully planned will include plenty of time for quiet self-care time.  You have our respect for your individual needs and the power of being still and alone.

This three-night, all-inclusive retreat, includes the inspirational program across four days, your accommodations, spending time with the horses & cows, a 60 minutes massage, a workshop about juicing and raw foods, evening activities like bonfires, and all gourmet meals starting with dinner on the first night and ending with breakfast on the last morning. For sleeping, you have your choice of elegant rooms with fireplaces and outdoor hot tubs, to glamping in tipis.

Private accommodations for retreat guests only, no other guests will be staying during these days and the maximum number of participants is 10. You will be required to sign a waiver.
